About Our Pastor
Reverend Christine “Chris” Mitchell was appointed to the Church of Christ Uniting in Richfield Springs on July 1, 2024. A second-career pastor, Chris brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and commitment to her ministry.
Before entering pastoral leadership, Chris spent many years in the field of customer service. Her call to ministry first took shape through youth ministry at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Rochester, NY, where she served as Youth Director and Co-Director of Christian Education. During that time, she led youth on mission trips, partnered closely with the Upper New York Conference’s Committee on Youth Ministry, and chaired the Genesee Valley District Committee on Youth Ministry.
Chris later answered the call to pastoral ministry and was appointed to Honeoye Falls United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully for five years before joining us here in Richfield Springs. In addition to her pastoral work, she currently serves as the Upper New York Conference Safe Sanctuaries Chair, helping equip churches to create safe and nurturing environments for all.
Chris is joined in Richfield Springs by her mother, Peg, and her daughter, Kennedy, along with their dog, Macy, and two cats, Khaleesi and Star. Her son, Jacob, lives in Rochester. In her free time, Pastor Chris and her family enjoy camping and spending time outdoors. She is also an active member of the Mohawk Valley Central Kiwanis Club, a service organization dedicated to serving children and strengthening communities around the world.
